Under his stewardship, NIELIT Deemed to be University, established in 2024 under the UGC (Institution Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023, is poised to become a beacon of skill development and capacity building in the fields of IT, electronics, and emerging technologies. The university, with its main campus in Ropar, Punjab, and 11 constituent centres across India, is committed to fostering innovation, research, and inclusive education to empower the marginalized sections of society, aligning with the philosophy of 'Antyodaya'.
Shri Vaishnaw’s academic background, with a Master’s in Technology from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from Wharton, combined with his expertise in technology and finance, enables him to steer NIELIT toward creating market-oriented programs that meet the evolving demands of the IT and electronics industries.
